Southern Breeze at The Today Show

Even though Southern Breeze Editor Mark A. Newman was on vacation recently in New York City, that did not prevent him from acting as an unofficial Gulf Coast ambassador! Since Today Show co-host and former New Orleans resident Hoda Kotb was featured in the Summer issue in a profile by Deb Burst, Mark thought it would be a nice gesture to give her a copy of the article in person.
But this is Southern Breeze where nothing is done halfway; instead of just an issue of the magazine, Hoda was presented with a professionally framed collage of the entire article, the issue’s cover, and New Orleans’ unofficial symbol, the fleur de lis, thrown in for good measure. This remarkable piece was created by Negrotto’s Gallery in Biloxi. According to Mark, Hoda was delighted. “She could not take her eyes off of the piece,” he says. “She made sure that one of the stage crew knew that this was going to her office where no doubt it will hang as a reminder of her favorite places on earth, New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.”
